Computers Page

The Computers page serves as an overview of the computers that are being monitored by your company with the help of the Vistar agent or a supported MDM (mobile device manager).

Computers with the Vistar Agent Installed

After the installation of the Vistar Agent on your employees' computers, a list will be generated, featuring details about each computer used by your employees. In each row, there will be either a checkmark or an X denoting the status of various security measures for each user.

Accessing the Computers Page

  • Choose 'Computers' in the navigation panel on the left side.
  • You'll then see a roster of assets that vistar monitors and tracks.
  • If you click on a particular user's name, you'll access further details about the individual, including onboarding status, granted access, offboarding status, and computer information.

Column Information

A green checkmark signifies that the asset has fulfilled the security protocol requirements, while an X indicates that the asset has not met the security protocol criteria.

  • Owner: The individual who possesses the asset
  • Monitoring: The system or software responsible for tracking this asset?
  • OS: The operating system running on the asset
  • PW: Does this asset employ a password manager?
  • HD: Is the hard drive encrypted on this asset?
  • AV: Is there an anti-virus program installed on this asset?
  • SL: Is screen lock activated to secure the device after periods of inactivity?
  • Last Check: When was the most recent scan of this asset conducted by the agent or MDM?"

Reassigning or Removing a Computer

  • Pick a particular name from the list.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the Computers tab and select 'Edit Details.'
  • Proceed to Add or modify the relevant information.

Exporting Computer List

  • To obtain a copy of your asset list, click on the 'Export' option located at the top right corner of the page.
  • This action will initiate the download of a .csv file containing the list of computers.

Troubleshooting

If a computer has the Vistar Agent installed but does not appear on this page, please click on the 'Troubleshooting' link located at the bottom of the page:

Unmonitored Computers

  • Employees lacking the vistar Agent installation will be found within the "Unmonitored" section:
  • If you prefer not to have your employees perform a self-installation of the Visar Agent, you can choose to execute a script for an automated installation on your MDM-provisioned computers. You can find this script under the 'Use your MDM system to install the Visar Agent' option located at the bottom of the page.
